At age 19, the rate would be reduced to $800 per month, pending of course that there were no moving violations, accidents etc. Well as a parent you have two options. You can pay the thousand dollars a month or you can insist that your teenager walk. You know the story when you are a teenager he walked everywhere. That’s not likely going to sell with today’s teenagers, so the alternative is to try and find cheap insurance somewhere. Good luck with that. We have decided that the best approach for our teenage driver is to permit them to have jobs that help offset the cost of young divers car insurance. Seems fair to us, doesn’t seem quite so fair to our teenagers. After all all their friends have nice cars pay for their insurance. We asked our teenagers if they could move in with their friends.
